I don’t know who needs to hear this—but maybe I do.
You’re doing great. I know you want to accomplish a lot and become better. I know you feel like you need to make up for the past. And maybe you’re being too hard on yourself.
You’re trying to balance everything and make the most of it. But take a breath. Unclench your jaw. Relax your shoulders. Let go of that heavy feeling.
The truth is, you can’t fix the past, and you can’t control other people. It’s okay to feel upset about the people who hurt you. That anger is valid. You’re not alone in that.
Sometimes you probably wish you could go back in time, hug your younger self, and say,
“Hey. Don’t listen to them. You’re amazing, kind, smart, and capable. Just go for it.”
But the past doesn’t exist anymore. And not everything we remember from it is real. We can’t even recall what we did on a specific day years ago. Sure, we remember big or painful moments, but even those memories aren’t the full picture. Our minds fill in gaps. We replay events, but those replays can shift. What we remember might not be exactly how it happened.
You have a purpose. You’re meant to be here.
Sometimes that’s hard to see or easy to forget, but it’s still true. You only get this one life. And that doesn’t mean you need to take everything so seriously. Life isn’t meant to be carried like a weight.
You can’t stop time. You can’t stop aging. And yeah, it’s scary to move forward, even when things are going well. But that’s also part of what makes life interesting. You’re changing, growing, and taking risks. You’re learning how to rest.
Some people won’t have the same intentions as you. Some won’t believe in what you do—not even your parents. That’s not your fault. You’re not failing the universe.
You don’t need to put anyone or anything on a pedestal—not even the universe or God. The fact that you’re here, alive, and experiencing everything around you is already something incredible.
Every single day you wake up and breathe is a privilege.
Everyone is living life for the first time, no matter their age.
So forgive yourself. Make mistakes. Take risks.
It won’t always be easy—but at least you tried.
You’re trying.
And it’s okay to rest.
